After 20 presidential elections in my lifetime, what can I say about number 21? After “living” under 15 presidents, what should I expect from number 16 (who may be a repeat)?
I am looking ahead of November 5, 2024 (and this is being written October 31, 2024, appropriately on All Hallows Eve). So, with the next paragraph, here we go!
I lead with a question. Will there be violence following the “count?” Will there be nonviolent demonstrations of discontent, distrust, and disappointment? Your guess is as good as mine --- and mine is as good as yours (unless you are one of those planning “something”).
Frankly, I see a very strong potential for a Constitutional Crisis no matter who is declared the winner of the presidential sweepstakes. I also see a Cultural Crisis and it may be the severest test of all.
