The news is not good. Most of the world is experiencing severe problems, and I am convinced that many of us --- if not all of us --- feel very helpless to do anything about anything. The religious folks say "Pray!" The secular folks say "Plan!" The ignorant folks say "Play!" What should active, real-life Christians be saying? That's a good question! The following two paragraphs will be this old preacher's attempt to provide answers.

1. How about we start by laying a foundation for "The Answer Edifice?" Any solid and stable building has to have a really good, firm foundation. In my very extremely humble opinion, that foundation should be love. After all, God is love. Jesus was the greatest demonstration of God's love. There is a great hymn that says, "The Church's one foundation is Jesus Christ her Lord."

2. Next, we put love into action. Love is like faith in that if it is not active it is dead. Love can cause the helpless to pray. Love can cause the physically able-bodied to work. Love can cause the intellectually astute to plan. Love can cause the born again, Spirit-led Christian to pray the prayer of faith for the healing and deliverance of those suffering the tragedies of recent events around the world.

I conclude this short opinion piece with these remarks: I am a Christian. I am a believer in Jesus Christ. He is the only begotten Son of God. He lived to proclaim the gospel of the Kingdom of God. He suffered and died to pay for the sins of the world. He came back to life and was seen by hundreds of people. He left the earth. He will return. In the meantime, those who believe should be about the holy occupation of serving him and his cause. We are called to WORSHIP God, in Christ, through The Holy Spirit. We are called to follow through by praying, planning, and working.

Victory in Jesus,

Paul
